Why must we obey and respect our parents?

Allah says “And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.” [Al-Quran 17: 23]

Remember..

Look how big you are now..22 years old young lady
How tall you are..156cm taller than your mother
Now, you even can wear your mother's clothes, shoes..and it suits you well
Back then, mother always bought an extra bigger size clothes and shoes so you could wear it for a longer time..
Mother said, you grown up so fast..i couldn't measure your right size..
I'm afraid it wouldn't fits you later on...

Look how big you are now..you dare talked back at your mother..
When you were still a kid, your mother scold you because you were wrong..
Today, you scold your mother & father out of nothing..you have an Ego in yourself..
Just because you think you are smarter than them..have you forget??
Who's effort was that which contributed to your success?? Forgotten do you?
It's them who sent you to U to make you smart..
With their sweats n tears they brought you up..

Look how big you are now..ignores your father thoughts..
Remember that old and harsh hands made a ponytail for your hair..
He persuaded you not to cut your hair..remember..
He who bought you bicycle and scooter when you were small..
'Kakak! See what I bought for you..I've bought it with a good price..play well with your brother ok.'
Father was so happy watching his daughter playing with joy..

Remember now do you? You should obey and respect your parents! And the most important is PRAY !
Yes pray!

A Child should pray for their parents, as Allah teaches us in the verse (which means) "…My Lord and Sustainer! Be kind and have mercy on them as they cherished, nurtured and sustained me in childhood.” [Quran 17: 24]

Last but not least a hadith which shows Prophet Muhammad teaches us to place kindness and respect towards parents and the prayer offered on time as prayer is the foundation of Islam.

‘Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood (RA) said: “I asked the Prophet (PBUH) which deed is most liked by Allah? He (PBUH) said: ‘Prayer offered on time.’ I asked him: ‘Then what? He (PBUH) said: ‘Kindness and respect towards parents.’…” [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

Love Allah swt, Love Prophet Muhammad saw and Love your parents :)
Be a good Muslimah thoroughly not partially...pray for Istiqamah fisabilillah. InsyaAllah
